The Rapture is described in the Bible in 1 Thessalonians 4:15–17.
15 For this we declare to you kby a word from the Lord,4 that lwe who are alive, who are left until mthe coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For nthe Lord himself will descend ofrom heaven pwith a cry of command, with the voice of qan archangel, and rwith the sound of the trumpet of God. And sthe dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be tcaught up together with them uin the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so vwe will always be with the Lord.
The Rapture is also known as the harpazo, which is a Greek word that means to take forcibly, snatch, or be caught up. In 1 Thessalonians 4:16, Paul says, "The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of the archangel. and the trumpet of God the dead in Christ shall rise first. those who are alive into me meaning will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air".
The Rapture is when those who truly love Jesus and have accepted Jesus as their Saviour will be changed in the twinkling of a eye and will rise into the sky in a instant to meet Jesus in the AIR.
This is DIFFERENT from the 2nd coming when Jesus comes again AFTER the 7 year Tribulation WITH those who have been raptured to set up the 1,000 year reign.
People make a big deal about words... you know one person says it and everyone jumps on the bandwagon that the word RAPTURE isn't in the Bible of course not... The Bible was not written in English but the EVENT is there.
Interesting to note...
Elijah and Enoch were both raptured.
The goal of this blog and my youtubes is to whet your appetitite to learn more so go ahead and do some more study on this for yourself... may I suggest
checking out David Jeremiah he has a lot of good stuff out on end times
.
Strong's #726: harpazo (pronounced har-pad'-zo) from a derivative of 138; to seize (in various applications):--catch (away, up), pluck, pull, take (by force).
Of course I am a serious student of the Word of God wanting to know all I can about Jesus.
And what happens after we are raptured ???
